Rally On the Rio Big Success

We had another fun packed carving week and made a lot of new friends, all the instructors were great and we could not have asked for better Weather

With all of the work that has to be done to organize and coordinate an event of this magnitude it requires a lot of cooperation between many volunteers.

A special thanks to all of these people who gave unselfishly many hours of their time to make the Rally On the Rio happen. They should be proud to be part of this team. At this time I wish to thank:

Maxine Blanchard for handling all registrations.
Max Blanchard for handling the registration Table and Money.
Al Marsh for printing all name tags and instructor names and forms used in the Rally
Edith Marsh in assisting Al and overseeing student name tag pickup and information cards
Margaret Cawood, Jack Cawood, and Dorothy Chapapas for mailing all the applications
Terri Mizner, Virginia Imlah, Neva Gardner, Irene Miklos, Audrey Hampton Virginia Baustian for all week in the Lunch room.
Rally security Bob Parke in charge, Names of Security Frank Beller, Russ Valle, Wally Meers, Fernando Gutierrez, Bob Parke, Toby Craft,
And a large Thank You for all who helped set up and take down tables and chairs

Although we looked a little confused on the set up we quickly got our selves organized and things started moving like a well-oiled machine. One Monday morning 8.00AM sharp the coffee was made, The donuts were there, thanks to Max and Maxine.

The classes were starting. The Rally was off and running.

As the Week progressed my thoughts leaned toward Rally On the Rio 2002. We are glad most of our instructors and some new ones will be back next year because we had many classes and not enough time in 1 week to do all we wanted to do.

I thought I was doing good to have most of our instructors applications in so we can start to get the printing done As we checked out of the RV Park on Monday we stopped by the Office only to find out our date was changed back to our original date.

Thanks to the Civic center We were able to change our show date to January 18 & 19 2002.

Our Rally On the Rio Will Be January 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 2002.
January 20 will be set up date. Instructors will be able to set up at 4PM.

I would like to thank everyone again for all the help and hard work you gave. With this kind of spirit and dedication we can’t help but be a big success and we will try and make it even Bigger and Better in 2002.

Like last year we are in need of key persons:

In charge of ticket sales
Help with AM and PM Sales and the 4 PM Raffle.
Help with the Registration and Information table to fill in on days when others are taking classes.
