A grand door prize will be drawn at the close of the show. It will be a beautiful carving made by one of our members.
The Rio Grande Woodturners will be returning to display some of their turned items. We will also have 3 commercial vendors selling tools blanks and supplies. Members do not forget to turn in items for the silent auction and door prizes. To sign up for your table contact Dorothy.

Donations To The Nomad Shrine Club
The Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers are carving Christmas Ornaments to be donated to the Shriners. They will be placed on a tree and raffled in December with proceeds to help with transportation of the children to the hospital. This is our second year. It is our way to add a little help. Do you have a great carving at home and have just got tired of looking at it. Why not donate it to the Shriners, so it can be raffled at one of their monthly meetings. Please contact Elaine Craft if you have one and can help.
Rally On The Rio Brochures
The brochures have been printed and mailed on Aug 1st and the advance Planning has been done. We have a very good line up for our instructors and I am proud to say some of the very best will be at our Rally. Now is the time to be thinking about what you would like to carve then register for classes outlined in your book or you can check the web sign up. Classes do fill up, register early so you will not be left out.
If you are able to help at the Rally (like the important job of picking up the donuts each morning, helping with the raffle some days) - please contact Maxine or Elaine.
Community Involvement
I wish to Thank all who participated in the Pioneer Days at Hidalgo County Museum, Edinburg, Texas - the C K Koele 4 banger Museum Show, Mission, Texas - Border Feast, Hidalgo, Texas. Events like these allows us to display our carvings and show all the Old World Art of Woodcarving and have fun doing it.
